Share Ambassador

Michelle Koerner

On July 25, 1999, their daughter, Kaitlyn Nicole Koerner, was born still on her due date. Tom and Michelle went to their first Share meeting in August, 1999. They instantly felt compassion, understanding, and hope. The next couple of years were long and full of incredible emotions. Michelle tested positive for a couple of blood clotting disorders. They had a miscarriage a couple of months after losing Kaitlyn, and then went on to have a healthy boy – Kevin – in September of 2000. When Kevin was 8 months old, they found out they were blessed again to be pregnant with another child. Jackson was born in February of 2002. With the excitement of each developmental stride the boys go through, Tom and Michelle can’t help but think about their daughter, and her presence and impact on all of their lives.

Michelle continues to spend “Kaitlyn” time participating in various Share activities and groups. She runs the Subsequent Choices group, serves on the Board for Share, serves on the Share Development Committee, and is a Share Companion. Michelle would not be able to do as much as she does without the love and support of Tom. Share has been so helpful to her and her family, she is honored to be able to offer help to others at a very difficult, confusing time in their lives.

Michelle became an Ambassador this year by helping chair the Trivia night with three other Share companions, which raised $9,000 for Share. It was a very successful, fun evening.
