Jeanna O'Leary - Share Group Coordinator
Jeanna began working for Share in July 2006 as the Support Group Coordinator. She is the primary contact person for Share chapters across the country and works with individuals or employees of hospital networks who are interested in establishing new Share chapters in their local communities. She also assists in the planning and coordinating of the Sharing & Caring Perinatal Loss and Share Coordinator Workshop which is held semi-annually in St. Louis. Jeanna is a moderator for the online Share message boards and chat rooms and provides phone support to bereaved parents who call the national office. She is currently working with a group of volunteers who are completing Spanish translations of many of Share’s printed materials.
Jeanna served as co-chair for the 2007 Voices of Hope retreat, which was held in celebration of Share’s 30th anniversary and has served on the planning committee for the National Share Walk for Remembrance and Hope. She has volunteered for many events sponsored by the National Office and as a Share Companion.
Jeanna and her husband were introduced to Share in 2000 after their first babies, David and Allison, (boy/girl twins) died from complications of extreme prematurity. In December 2001, with much joy and excitement, they welcomed their twin sons, Aidan and Grant. They experienced an early pregnancy loss in 2006 and their third living son, Shane, was born in November 2007. Share gave Jeanna and her husband the strength and hope to continue their dream of raising a family. It has been a healing experience to offer support to other bereaved parents on this journey.
